Welcome to Dr. Dionisio Nyaga website. I am an Assistant Professor at Algoma University-School of Social Work. I have a Bachelor (B.S.W) and a Master of Social Work M.S.W) from Toronto Metropolitan University. I have a Ph.D from OISE-University of Toronto. My dissertation titled: Re-imagining Black Masculinity: Praxis of Kenyan Men in Toronto looked at how accents can be a colonial technology meant to deny African people access to labor, immigration and education.

My area of research, practice and teaching interest are in the area of critical anti-oppression, critical Blackness and Africaness, ethical studies, transnational and diasporic studies, research practice and teaching, community development. I have published multiple peer reviewed articles, book chapters and edited collections. My recent book project was a co-edited piece titled Critical research methodologies: ethical duties and responsibility that was published in and around 2021. The recent published book equally reasserts ethical research and is titled : Critical Reflexive Research methodologies published around 2023/4.
